Embedded software engineer. Specialising in LoRa.

I build LoRa devices. I started a warning system for roadside workers and took it from prototype to production, including the wearable firmware and the radio protocols.

Projects

Weather station

The house weather station is a small IoT system: sensors on an Arduino, readings over MQTT, and a Raspberry Pi running WeeWX. Live weather station.

Amateur radio

Call sign VK3CRA on QRZ

I’m a radio amateur in Melbourne. At the moment I’m exploring low-power FT8 propagation on 30m, using a kit-built QMX+. I enjoy making my own antennas and have investigated end-fed half-waves, dipoles and various random wire antennas. I model antennas using NEC2. I am the vice president of the Melbourne Electronics and Radio Club.
